Boltim Community Enthusiastically Attends Public Consultation of PT Arafura Surya Alam (ASA) AMDAL Revision

BOGANINEWS, BOLTIM - PT Arafura Surya Alam (PT ASA), which is engaged in gold mining in Kotabunan District, East Bolaang Mongondow, held a Public Consultation as one of the requirements for the revision of the AMDAL (Environmental Impact Analysis), on Friday, August 30, 2024, on the third floor of the Boltim Regent's Office Hall in Tutuyan.

The Public Consultation was led by the Regional Secretary of East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Ir. Jefri Soni Warokka, Ph.D, and Chairman/Member of DPRD Fuad Landjar, S.H., Assistant II Haris Pratama Sumanta, S.T., M.T., PT ASA Team led by the Head of Mining Engineering (KTT), Yusransyah, DLH Office and several Heads of Service.

As for those who attended the Public Consultation Socialization by PT ASA, namely the Kotabunan Sub-District Head, Idrus Paputungan, the Community was represented by fourteen villages that entered the Mining Circle, each represented by five people, namely the Village Head, Village Secretary, Village Representative Body (BPD), and two Community Leaders.

For information, PT ASA's AMDAL was approved in 2018, but the AMDAL needs to be readjusted based on the Company's plans, and this Public Consultation is a necessary requirement for PT ASA to revise the AMDAL.

“This Public Consultation aims to obtain suggestions, proposals, input on the project. Therefore, PT ASA explains and discusses the risks that arise and the mitigation or plans prepared to deal with these matters. In addition, the public consultation also discussed issues related to employment opportunities,” explained KTT PT ASA Yusransyah.

KTT PT ASA Yusransyah also explained that in carrying out its activities, the company always complies with applicable regulations, including the specified thresholds, and always dialogues with the community and other stakeholders,” Yusransyah explained.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of East Bolaang Mongondow Regency representing the Regent of Boltim, Dr. Sam Sahrul Mamonto, S.Sos, M.Si., appreciated the implementation of this Public Consultation because it can accommodate input and suggestions from all parties.

“We hope PT ASA can immediately restart its work, so that there will be a positive economic turnover in this region and trigger regional growth. Of course, the Regency Government will always supervise so that it complies with the regulations,” hoped the Boltim Secretary.
